STATEWIDE BURN BAN -- EFFECTIVE AT 6 p.m. SATURDAY, MARCH 28 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide. No new burning permits will be issued.
Timber Loss Relief Program Application Period Opens April 20

Hickory Mountain Trail in DuPont State Recreational Forest Closed for Trail Work April 16-17
If you visit the forest on these days, keep yourself and our trail crew safe by choosing a different trail. Plan Your Visit
Turkey Knob Trail Closed at Bridge But Usable as "Out-and-Back Trail"
The bridge located on Turkey Knob Trail, one-half mile from the Pinnacle Mountain gate is closed, but the trail can still be used as an “out-and-back trail" as far as the bridge.
