STATEWIDE BURN BAN -- EFFECTIVE AT 6 p.m. SATURDAY, MARCH 28 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide. No new burning permits will be issued.
Upcoming Parking/Access Aces Closures at DuPont State Recreational Forest
Due to needed parking lot maintenance & work, temporary closures are planned for the Fawn Lake, High Falls & Hooker Falls parking/access areas. Visitors should plan accordingly. More Info / Details
Turkey Knob Trail Closed at Bridge But Usable as "Out-and-Back Trail"
The bridge located on Turkey Knob Trail, one-half mile from the Pinnacle Mountain gate is closed, but the trail can still be used as an “out-and-back trail" as far as the bridge.
