Structural Pest Control and Pesticides - Pesticide Exam Information

Online Pesticide Exams

You must preregister for an exam by completing the online exam registration form (choose the New, Recertification or Add a Category option) and e-mailing it to PesticideExams@ncagr.gov. Standard NCDA&CS pesticide exam fees still apply, but an additional $26 is charged per exam to cover the online testing service fee.

Please review the Online Exam Guidelines prior to registering for any online Pesticide Exam.

In-Person Pesticide Exams

In-person attendance may be limited; only those who have preregistered are guaranteed the ability to take exams. All exam fees will be collected on the day of exam; check or money order payable to NCDA&CS or exact cash (unable to make change) are the only acceptable forms of payment at this time. Receipts will be provided. We are unable to accept any form of Credit or Debit cards at this time for in person exams. Testers will need to bring their own pencils and calculators (you cannot use your phone as a calculator). If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, or if you are considered an “at risk” individual, for your safety and for others’, please do not come to the exam. Our inspectors reserve the right to turn you away if you choose not to follow these restrictions.

The exam registration portal closes 48 hours before the exam date; if you are attempting to register within 48 hours of the exam, please call 984-236-4575 to find out if space is available. Due to the limited seating capacity, if you are registered for an exam and are unable to attend, you must notify the Pesticide Section at least 48 hours in advance or you will not be eligible to attend another exam for 60 days.

At this time, we offer the following exams in Spanish: Ag Pest Plant, Core, Ornamental & Turf, Private Applicator, Right-of-Way, and Soil Fumigation (Private & Commercial).

  • All exams begin at 1:00pm, unless otherwise indicated.
