RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has teamed up with N.C. State University running back Hollywood Smothers to showcase the nutritional benefits of dairy milk in the department’s latest student-athlete campaign.
Smothers, a college football standout, leads the promotion by emphasizing how milk powers his performance both on and off the field. The campaign also features Paige Garland, dairy farm manager at Homeland Creamery in Julian, who delivers Smothers a glass of cold milk during a workout, underscoring the connection between local dairy farmers and athletes.
“North Carolina has a long history of producing great athletes and local dairy products, and we are excited that our latest student-athlete partnership with Hollywood Smothers celebrates both,” Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler said. “We are thrilled to partner with this talented athlete in promoting the state’s dairy industry and NC State football. Go Pack!”
The campaign will be promoted across Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn to highlight how dairy milk fuels athletes and consumers alike. Whether in the gym, on the field or tackling a busy day, dairy milk provides a strong source of energy and nutrition.
This marks the fourth student-athlete Name, Image, and Likeness promotion for dairy milk led by NCDA&CS, and the third featuring a Wolfpack athlete.
