Tropical Storm Chantal Recovery
Tropical Storm Chantal Recovery
Tropical Storm Chantal made landfall on July 6, 2025, bringing significant rainfall, localized flooding, and widespread damage to private agricultural access roads and farm infrastructure across the affected counties. Several districts reported emergency access issues, damaged farm roads, and related repairs needed to restore safe access for producers. Because USDA programs do not cover these types of repairs, districts have requested state assistance through the Agriculture Cost Share Program (ACSP). Eligible districts include those within counties covered by the FEMA major disaster declaration related to Tropical Storm Chantal: Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Moore, and Orange.
