STATEWIDE BURN BAN -- EFFECTIVE AT 6 p.m. SATURDAY, MARCH 28 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide. No new burning permits will be issued.

Timber Loss Relief Program Application Period Opens April 20

The program is designed to partially compensate private landowners with at least 10 contiguous acres of moderate to catastrophic timber loss from Hurricane Helene. Learn More about Eligibility and How to Apply
