Plant Industry - Tonnage Fees

The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services-Plant Industry Division is responsible for ensuring all inspection fees due for fertilizer and lime are properly assessed and collected in accordance with the applicable General Statutes noted below. 

In accordance with General Statute 106-671, a tonnage fee of $.50 per ton for fertilizer is due monthly to the NCDA&CS-Plant Industry Division.

In accordance with General Statute 106-92.8, tonnage fees for lime and landplaster in the amount of $.50 per ton are due monthly to the NCDA&CS- Plant Industry Division

These inspection fees partially support the compliance and service activities implemented by the NCDA&CS-Plant Industry Division, Food and Drug Protection Division and Agronomic Services Division field and laboratory staff.

• Application for Fertilizer Manufacturer’s Reporting Permit
   
• Application for Agricultural Liming Material, Agricultural Liming Material with one Fertilizer Material and Landplaster Reporting Permit
   
• Change Form-This form is utilized when making changes to company name, address, contact name or to cancel a permit
