The countdown is on with the N.C. Mountain State Fair just a month away. Six new entertainment acts will make their debuts at the fair, rounding out a thrilling lineup of fun, games, food, agriculture, rides and more. Back for its 31st year, the fair will run Sept.

FLETCHER – Great weather and strong community support delivered strong attendance numbers for the 2024 N.C. Mountain State Fair sponsored by Ingles Markets. Total attendance was 149,334, besting last year’s attendance by 2,056.
Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler inducted dairy farmers Ralph and Barbara Ross and longtime Western NC advocate L.T. Ward into the N.C. Mountain State Fair Livestock Hall of Fame during the fair’s opening weekend.
Over $1,600 was awarded and bragging rights settled in the first four special cooking contests at the N.C. Mountain State Fair.
WHAT: The Whole Hog Barbecue Series is coming to the 2024 N.C.
FLETCHER – The Whole Hog Cookoff is coming to the 2024 N.C. Mountain State Fair on Saturday, Sept. 7, with meat from the competition and on-site monetary donations going to MANNA FoodBank to help feed the hungry.
