The N.C. Pesticide Board recently approved the following settlement agreements for cases in Burke, Caswell, Columbus, Durham, Johnston, Polk, Surry and Wake counties. Settlements involved cases of drift damage, improper pesticide application and the improper selling of pesticides. Settlements are listed by county below:

Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler today announced the promotion of Kaleb Rathbone of Waynesville to assistant commissioner for Western NC Agricultural Programs and Small Farms and Teresa Lambert of Laurel Springs as the director of the Research Stations Division.Lambert fills the role created by Rathbone’s promotion. Rathbone replaces Bill Yarborough who retired as special assistant to the Commissioner, and he will also assume additional duties and oversight as an assistant commissioner.

RALEIGH - The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has recently partnered with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and the U.S. Air Force to record five conservation easements in eastern North Carolina. This marks the first ever easements to use funding from these three sources at the state and federal levels, and a first for a streamlined approach to conservation restrictions.
