Food Distribution - Programs

USDA Programs Administered by NCDA&CS Food Distribution Division.

The Food Distribution Division administers six food programs for the Food and Nutrition Service 

of the United States Department of Agriculture.

 

Programs:Recipients of Programs:
Schools (public, certain private, and residential)Children in public and certain private schools, and children in residential childcare institutions
Emergency Feeding Assistance Program (EFAP)Food Banks, soup kitchens, drug and alcohol rehab centers, violence prevention shelters for women and children
Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)/Elderly FeedingElderly persons below Federal poverty standards
Summer FeedingSchool age children in schools
Summer CampsSchool age children
Disaster ReliefRed Cross Shelters

 

All agencies that receive USDA commodities have to be a non-profit agency with a tax ID number.
