The 2022 N.C. Mountain State Fair will offer several promotional days to help fairgoers save big on gate and ride tickets during the fair’s 28th annual run Sept. 9-18 at the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher.“In addition to saving money by buying your admission and ride tickets to the Mountain State Fair in advance, we are offering other great deals for fairgoers during the fair,” said general manager Sean McKeon. “Whether you’re a kid, adult or senior, there are money saving opportunities for everyone, with special promotions being held just about every day of the fair.”
The deadline to enter items into the N.C. Mountain State Fair is fast approaching. To help as many fairgoers as possible in the area be able to enter, the Fair is again offering the Pony Express Run with free delivery for entry items from outlying Cooperative Extension offices to the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher.

If you think your artwork, crafts, baked foods, landscaping, honey, livestock and more are ribbon-worthy then don’t miss this year’s deadlines to enter. The Mountain State Fair is even adding a new competition this year for youth cavies or guinea pigs.
If you have ever dreamed of working with the N.C. Mountain State Fair, now is your opportunity. The fair will be hiring for a number of temporary positions including ticket sellers, ticket takers, information booth attendants and entry department staff in preparation for the 2022 Mountain State Fair Sept. 9-18.“The Mountain State Fair provides a dynamic and exciting work environment, plus it offers easy access to cotton candy,” said fair manager Sean McKeon. “Come work with us and get paid to be part of one of the biggest events in the area.”

The 27th N.C. Mountain State Fair returns Friday with gates opening at 9 a.m. and the official ribbon cutting ceremony at noon on Heritage Stage.“We’re so glad to be back this year with fun for the whole family” said fair manager Matt Buchanan. “In addition to many returning fair favorites including livestock shows, music, arts and crafts, carnival rides and deep-fried treats, we are going to start off with a special Friday night promotion for anyone who enjoys the rides.”Opening weekend activities include:Promotions

The N.C. Mountain State Fair has extended the deadlines for the cooking and gospel singing competitions to Aug. 20 at 11:55 p.m.All competitions are online registration only. The cooking competition offers a total of $3,825 in premiums and the gospel singing competition has $2,100 in total premiums.Interested contestants still have time to enter the Clogging Championship, which also has an Aug. 20 deadline.  Other competition deadlines remain the same, including the following:
