Eligible applicants for the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program include state and/or local governmental units, academia (Universities and Colleges), and non-profit organizations, including producer associations, community-based organizations and other specialty crop stakeholders.

The 2026 application window is closed.  

The Specialty Crop Block Grant is contingent upon available funding from the United States
Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing Service (USDA, AMS).

Who is eligible for grants?

State and/or Local governmental units, Academia (Universities, 
Colleges,  Local School Systems) and Non-Profit Organizations. 
Producer Associations, Community-Based Organizations and other 
Specialty Crop Stakeholders may be eligible as single or combined 
entities.

What defines a specialty crop?

The USDA provides a list of eligible and ineligible crops.
