N.C. Stillhouse interaction

Discover North Carolina's growing distilling industry at the N.C. State Fair! At the N.C. Stillhouse — located in the Heritage Circle area — a daily lineup of North Carolina distilleries will serve craft cocktails for of-age fairgoers to enjoy.

Each of the 11 days of the fair will feature spirits from four Distillers Association of North Carolina member distilleries. Fairgoers will be able to sip North Carolina spirits produced across the state – from the coast to the foothills. The drinks will be ready-to-pour cocktails, and a valid ID will be required for proof of age. Drinks must stay within the designated area around the house. Each drink, created with North Carolina spirits, will be $15. There will be a limit of two drinks per person.

The house is located near the Heritage Circle Pond, where there will be nightly fireworks at 9:45 p.m., so grab a drink and enjoy the show from the wraparound porch!

Cooking with spirit!

The Distillers Association of North Carolina will also sponsor the "Savory with Some Spirit" Home Chef Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 18.

That day, the Home Chef Challenge has participants whip up a protein dish of their choosing, just as long as it incorporates some of North Carolina's best spirits as a featured ingredient. From whiskey barbecue sauce to vodka lemon chicken, the possibilities are endless! Stop by to see what the home chefs come up with. Judging begins at 11 a.m. in the Dorton Arena North Lobby.
