Food Distribution - Programs
USDA Programs Administered by NCDA&CS Food Distribution Division.
The Food Distribution Division administers six food programs for the Food and Nutrition Service
of the United States Department of Agriculture.
| PROGRAMS | RECIPIENTS OF PROGRAMS ARE: |
| Schools (public, certain private,and residential) | Children in public and certain private schools, and children in residential child care institutions |
| Emergency Feeding Assistance Program (EFAP) | Food Banks, soup kitchens, drug and alcohol rehab centers, violence prevention shelters for women and children |
| Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)/Elderly Feeding | Elderly persons below Federal poverty standards |
| Summer Feeding | School age children in schools |
| Summer Camps | School age children |
| Disaster Relief | Red Cross Shelters |
| All agencies that receive USDA commodities have to be a non-profit agency with a tax ID number. | |
