Metrology Laboratory Section

We are pleased to report that after reviewing our submission packet and the associated proficiency test results, NIST has approved our application for recognition and issued our new Certificate of Measurement Traceability.

This is a big milestone because it means we can begin some customer work, but we’re not quite back to business as usual yet. While our measurements are now NIST traceable, we are not yet ISO 17025 accredited, and therefore still cannot accommodate customers who need artifacts calibrated by an accredited laboratory.

For those customers who only need NIST traceability, the laboratory will be opening up for mass, volume and thermometry work by appointment only beginning July 18.

The on-site audit of the program has not yet been scheduled by NVLAP, and we’ve had no word on whether they will provide a conditional/provisional accreditation prior to the audit, so we cannot project when we will be able to do accredited work. We will continue to post updates to this web site as new information becomes available to us.
