Other resources
This is a list of other state resources that may be helpful for you as you seek to maintain your farm.
State Historic Preservation Office
The North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office assists private citizens, private institutions, local governments, and agencies of state and federal government in the identification, evaluation, protection, and enhancement of properties significant in North Carolina history and archaeology. The agency carries out state and federal preservation programs.
Farmland Preservation
The NC Agricultural Development & Farmland Preservation Trust Fund will help secure these farms with grants for programs that promote sustainable agriculture,
agricultural agreements, and conservation
easements; giving farm businesses the resources needed to reinvest in their operations.
Forest Services
About 80% of North Carolina's 18 million acres of forest land is privately owned. Keeping this vital natural resource healthy and productive depends on careful, science-based forest management. Through the N.C. Forest Service's Outreach Program a landowner can learn how to access professional advice about managing his or her forest, including tree planting and forest pest eradication.
