Got to Be NC Show Pig Sale June 9

The 3rd Annual Got to Be NC Show Pig Sale will be held June 9 at the Johnston County Livestock Arena, 520 County Home Road in Smithfield.

“While the N.C. State Fair is still five months away, veteran participants in the livestock shows know that now is the time to begin working to get animals ready for the show ring,” said Billy Lewis, NCDA&CS livestock marketing specialist. “Being competitive starts with good stock, followed up with lots of work with the animals.”

The Got to Be NC Show Pig sale will offer high quality N.C. pigs that can be competitive in the swine shows at the N.C. State Fair and the WNC Mountain State Fair, as well as the Carolina Swine Showmanship Circuit.

The event starts with a Judge’s Choice show at 3 p.m., which will determine the sale order. The sale will begin at 6 p.m., and a meal will be provided.
