Agritourism conference slated for Jan. 9 & 10

The N.C. Agritourism Networking Association’s annual conference is Jan. 9 and 10 at the Marriot in downtown Winston-Salem. It is open to agritourism farm operators and others who want to learn more about agritourism.

The two-day event includes farm tours, workshops and educational sessions catered to those who welcome visitors to their farms.

On Jan. 9, participants can take part in a five-stop farm tour to talk with farmers who operate strawberry farms, corn mazes, greenhouses and more.

On Jan. 10, guest speakers will lead workshops and panel discussions on topics such as social media, branding, point-of-sale systems and hiring employees. There also will be a town-hall discussion with an attorney, insurance professional, financial adviser and experienced agritourism farmer, all of whom are versed in agritourism zoning, liability and diversification.
