Red Cross offers free safety app

Farming is one of the most dangerous professions, according to statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor. With this in mind, The American Red Cross has partnered with Monsanto to provide life-saving information specific to farms and rural life on its First Aid app.

The app features farm-specific safety topics in the Rural Safety section of the app, along with general first aid information.

The app provides information through videos, tips and interactive quizzes. And once it’s downloaded, you don’t need an Internet connection to access the data, an important factor in rural areas. The information is also available in English or Spanish.

The app is free and can be downloaded by texting the word “GETFIRST” to 90999, searching “American Red Cross” in the Apple App Store, Google Play or Amazon Marketplace or by going to
