The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Agricultural Development Forum will be held Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. in the Holshouser Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. The forum is held in conjunction with the Southern Farm Show, which runs Jan. 30-Feb.1.

Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler will present his annual State of Agriculture address and will recognize the Exporter of the Year during the event.

In addition, Nick Piggott, professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at N.C. State University, will present an update on the economic and ag policy outlook.

While at the fairgrounds, visitors should check out the events and activities at the Southern Farm Show, including exhibits of new farm equipment and technology, workshops, working dog demonstrations and various commodity meetings. There will also be an FFA Truck and Tractor Driving Competition on Jan. 31 and the Southern National Draft Horse Pull and Coon Mule Jump on Feb.1.
