Tar River Land Conservancy will hold a workshop, The Financial Benefits of Conservation Easements, May 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Edgecombe Community College’s Rocky Mount campus. The workshop is designed for farmers, landowners and their professional advisers. Program topics include state and federal tax incentives available for placing land under conservation easement. The N.C. Percheron Horse Association will hold its annual field day June 6 at 10 a.m. at Rolling Hills Percherons in Winston-Salem. The N.C. State Beekeepers Association will host its annual summer meeting July 9-11 at Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro. The theme is Natural Beekeeping in the Face of Diseases and Pests. Workshop topics include discussions on various diseases and pests and how to control them, reducing honey bee stress, keeping bees without foundation or chemicals, natural queen rearing, bee venom therapy and more.
