EQUINE ACTIVITY LIABILITY
CONTRACTS:
"Every written contract entered into by an equine professional or an equine activity sponsor for the providing of professional services, instruction or the rental of equipment or track or an equine to a participant, whether or not the contract involves equine activities on or off the location or site of the equine professional's or the equine sponsor's business shall contain in clearly readable print the wording notice as specified."
SIGN SPECIFICATIONS:
Signs must be posted in "a clearly visible location on or near stables, corrals or arenas where the equine professional or the equine activity sponsor conducts equine activities."- Sign size: At least 18 inches by 24 inches.
- Letters: Black, at least one inch in height.
- Wording: Exactly as shown.
Under North Carolina Law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting exclusively from the inherent risks of equine activities. Chapter 99E of the North Carolina Statutes |
SIGN AVAILABILITY:
Signs designed and manufactured according to the specifications of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services are available from the North Carolina Horse Council. Signs are screen printed on coroplast stock. Please print out and complete the order form.
