NCDA&CS - Marketing Division - Western North Carolina Farmers Market

COVID-19

In a continued effort to provide our community with fresh, locally grown produce, meats and cheeses from area farmers, the market will remain open and operate under normal business hours. The market will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additional updates to vendor schedules will be posted as soon as possible. For specific vendors not listed above, we encourage you to reach out to them directly before coming to the market.

Visitors are encouraged to follow CDC recommendations when visiting the market. A complete list of tips and best practices can be found here.

COVID-19 is not a foodborne illness. It is extremely unlikely that someone will catch it through eating. The virus is most likely to cause illness through respiratory transmission. The routes to be concerned about include being in very close proximity to many people, or coming in contact with high touch surfaces.

Thank you for your continued support during these unprecedented times!

We are on a thirty-six-acre site with a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains, and the Biltmore Estate. The market was first opened in 1977, and is now open all year round, and seven days a week. The public is invited to come here and enjoy the atmosphere and character of the mountains. Admission is FREE.

Our retail area features displays of high quality fruits and vegetables, mountain crafts, jams, jellies, preserves, sourwood honey, fresh baked breads, cookies and dozens of other farm fresh items. Inside you will also find a deli that offers sandwiches and ice cream. These buildings are open daily 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. year round.

There are five open-air truck sheds to provide 194 spaces for farmers and dealers to display top quality produce at reasonable prices. One truck shed is specifically designated for certified farmers who sell what they grow direct to the consumer. The market has a small dealers building and two large wholesale buildings consisting of more than 38,000 square feet. These buildings offer produce year round to grocery stores, restaurants, institutions, and roadside markets. This area is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

Jesse Israel & Sons Garden Center feature top quality plants, trees, and shrubs. Members of your party will enjoy strolling through their colorful facility that includes a greenhouse full of tropical plants, ponds full of water plants, bonsai, and a forty-foot waterfall.

The Moose Cafe located south of the main market entrance features a mouth-watering menu of farm-fresh produce and a beautiful view. They are open daily serving three meals.
