USDA Programs Administered by NCDA&CS Food Distribution Division
The Food Distribution Division administers six food programs for the
Food and Nutrition Service of the United States Department of Agriculture.
|PROGRAMS||RECIPIENTS OF PROGRAMS ARE:|
|Schools (public, certain private,and residential)||Children in public and certain private schools, and children in residential child care institutions|
|Emergency Feeding Assistance Program (EFAP)||Food Banks, soup kitchens, drug and alcohol rehab centers, violence prevention shelters for women and children|
|Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)/Elderly Feeding||Elderly persons below Federal poverty standards|
|Summer Feeding||School age children in schools|
|Summer Camps||School age children|
|Disaster Relief||Red Cross Shelters|
All agencies that receive USDA commodities have to be a non-profit agency with a tax ID number.
