Technical Services

The division's Technical Services staff provides technical assistance to soil and water conservation districts, local governments and landowners.  The multidisciplinary staff includes engineering professionals, soil scientists, survey technicians and environmental specialists. 

Staff provides support to federal, state and local programs in order to protect soil resources, improve water quality for both agricultural and non agricultural land.  They also assist in the the implementation of best management practices which increase water storage and availability for agricultural purposes. Technical Services staff is responsive to the ever changing needs of the conservation partnership and citizens of NC.

Although staff are often called upon to solve soil and water resources concerns, these professionals also work with partners on the local level to plan, design and implement practices aimed at preventing problems while enhancing and protecting the state’s natural resources.

  • Response to Natural Disasters and Recovery
  • Development and Implementation of Technical Training

Requesting Technical Assistance:

If you would like assistance please complete an online Technical Assistance Request.

Once the form is reviewed, the request will be assigned to appropriate division staff. Consideration will be given to overall workload of staff and the following priority matrix when scheduling projects.
