Training Opportunities - Basic Training for Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors - formerly School of Government Training

This course includes presentations from agency officials and others who work with soil and water conservation across the state, discussions of current projects being undertaken by soil and water conservation districts, and group work on plans for the districts represented by attendees.

Program topics include:

  • Decisions that need to be made by supervisors
  • Key resources available to supervisors
  • Legal and fiscal restrictions on the actions of supervisors
  • Possibilities for the future of soil and water and the districts' role in conservation

The NC Soil and Water Conservation Commission requires attendance at this training for all supervisors; the training is recommended for all supervisors and staff - both new and experienced.

This course is offered by the UNC School of Government, the Association and the Division.
