For the week ending April 5, 2009

 


GENERAL: North Carolina received some precipitation last week, ranging from no rain to 1.53 inches in Franklin.  Average temperatures were slightly above normal, ranging from 44 to 62 degrees.  There were 2.9 days suitable for field work, compared to 3.0 for the previous week.  Statewide soil moisture levels are rated at 1% short, 62% adequate, and 37% surplus.  Wet conditions limited field activity for the second straight week.
