Fertilizer and Lime Reporting System-Tonnage Fees

The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services-Budget and Finance Division-External Audit Section is responsible for ensuring all inspection fees due for fertilizer and lime are properly assessed and collected in accordance with the applicable General Statutes noted below. 

In accordance with General Statute 106-671, a tonnage fee of $.50 per ton for fertilizer is due monthly to the NCDA&CS-Budget and Finance Division.

In accordance with General Statute 106-92.8, tonnage fees for lime and landplaster in the amount of $.50 per ton are due monthly to the NCDA&CS-Budget and Finance Division. 

These inspection fees partially support the compliance and service activities implemented by the NCDA&CS-Plant Industry Division, Food and Drug Protection Division and Agronomic Services Division field and laboratory staff.
