Administers the biological control and apiary inspection programs. Responsible for heading up the Cereal Leaf Beetle (CLB) Biocontrol Program. Duties include developing the CLB Insectary Program, and evaluating the distribution and establishment of two CLB parasites, Anaphes flavipes and Tetrastichus julis statewide. Ms. Kidd also cooperates on projects related to the lady beetle, Harmonia axyridis.

Dr. Nalepa's present program efforts are directed towards the study of aggregation behavior of the introduced lady beetle Harmonia axyridis, and control of imported fire ants using Thelohania solenopsae a protozoan (microsporidium) that infects fire ant colonies and chronically weakens them. She is also an adjunct associate professor of Entomology at NCSU.

Technical research position that provides support to all programs. Responsibilities include the field release and assessment of Pseudacteon spp, parasitic flies that control the red imported fire ant (Solenopsis invicta) in its native habitat. Monitors cereal leaf beetle insectary. Mrs. Norris also serves as the Quarantine Officer for the Beneficial Insect Laboratory Quarantine in Cary.

Oversees rearing of hemlock woolly adelgid predators.
