Mountain State Fair announces winners
in specialty cooking contests

FLETCHER — The following winners were announced in several cooking contests held during the 2012 N.C. Mountain State Fair:

N.C. Pork Council’s Bacon!! Tarheel Pork Challenge

• First place, Reginald D. Cordell of Henderson County for his “Bacon-Wrapped Country Style Pork Ribs with Grilled Caramel Apples” recipe
• Second place, Connie Pegg of Buncombe County for her “Sausage Stuffed Peppers with Bacon Wrappers” recipe
• Third place, Sharon Gates of Buncombe County for her “Double Pork Panini” recipe
• Honorable mention, Jacob Doyle-Allen Bryant for his “Bacon & Ham Pot Pie” recipe

The Incredible Edible Egg!  Appetizer/Picnic Recipe Contest
