Troxler to milk cow for ag awareness Tuesday
| WHO/WHAT: |
Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler and WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner will face off in a cow-milking contest to raise awareness about the importance of agriculture in North Carolina. The contest is one of several events held during Agriculture Awareness Week at N.C. State University, a week-long celebration of agriculture’s contribution to the local and national economy.
Agriculture Awareness Week is organized by the Alpha Zeta Fraternity, an organization that consists of students with educational and career interests in the fields of agriculture and natural resources.

Agriculture is the number one industry in North Carolina and adds $74 billion to the state’s economy. Events such as Agriculture Awareness Week are held to educate the public on agriculture’s importance in daily living. |
