N.C. Arbor Day Celebration planned for State Farmers Market
Saturday, March 19

WHAT:

Warmer weather will be a welcomed change this weekend as the State Farmers Market hosts the N.C. Arbor Day Celebration. The free event will feature forest-related exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on activities for the whole family.

The Triangle Chapter of the Society of American Foresters will be passing out 1,000 redbud seedlings for planting. Small plants will be available for youth to take home and grow in their backyards. In addition, students interested in a career in natural resources can speak with N.C. State University faculty about related majors and jobs.

WHO:

The N.C. Arbor Day Celebration is hosted by the N.C. State University Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources. Participating organizations include the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, NeighborWoods Program and the N.C. Forestry Association.
