Pony Express provides pickup service for Mountain State
Fair entries from outlying counties
FLETCHER — The N.C. Mountain State Fair’s free Pony Express service makes it easy for residents in 11 outlying Western North Carolina counties to participate in the fair competitions.
Anyone interested in participating in this year’s fair is encouraged to submit their non-perishable entry at their local county extension office before Aug. 20. Following is a list of participating county offices and phone numbers:

Participants should bring items to the extension office wrapped and packed securely for transport. Each package should be labeled with the exhibitor’s name and home county, and must include a completed entry form for each item entered.
All entries will be delivered to the Mountain State Fair office for judging and display. Entries will be returned to the appropriate extension office by Sept. 24. Any prize money won will be mailed directly to the exhibitor.
Participants can find out more about the different competitions and individual contest details, and download entry forms online at www.mountainfair.org. Copies of the premium book can also be picked up at the WNC Ag Center in Fletcher or the WNC Farmers Market on Brevard Road in Asheville.
