State Farmers Market kicks off 2009 events
with local crafters and artists
| WHAT: |
The State Farmers Market will get a jumpstart on spring one week early at its Spring Craft Fair. More than 70 local crafters will showcase a variety of handmade crafts, including garden accessories, hand-woven baskets, spring floral arrangements, quilted items, crocheted baby blankets, stained glass, woodworking, pottery, candles, soaps, jewelry, handbags, furniture, hand-painted items and more. This is the State Farmers Market’s first event of the 2009 season, and admission and parking are free. |

Fresh greenhouse tomatoes, strawberries, collards and sweet potatoes are now available at the market, along with plants, pecans, firewood, salsas and honey. The indoor Market Shoppes has a large selection of farm-raised meats, cheeses, wine, jams and jellies, barbeque sauces and baked goods. Visitors to the Spring Craft Fair can also visit the State Farmers Market Restaurant, N.C. Seafood Restaurant, Nahunta Pork Center, Super Sod lawn supply center and Market Imports building. |
