State Farmers Market’s Spring Herb Days kick off Friday, April 10
| WHAT: |
The State Farmers Market is spicing things up with a showcase of locally grown oregano, dill, garlic, thyme, chives, basil and more at its annual Spring Herb Days. The free three-day event will showcase herbs from North Carolina growers, and herb specialists will be on hand to answer questions about planting and the many uses of these plants. Vendors will also offer free samples of herbal products, and will have herbal soaps, natural body care products, aromatics, herb books and crafts available for purchase. |

The market has the largest selection of plants and trees in the Triangle, with vendors selling flowers, hanging baskets, vegetable plants, shrubbery and more. Fresh greenhouse tomatoes, strawberries, collards and sweet potatoes are also now available at the market, along with pecans, firewood, salsas and honey. The indoor Market Shoppes has a large selection of farm-raised meats, cheeses, wine, jams and jellies, barbeque sauces and baked goods. Visitors to the Spring Herb Days can also visit the State Farmers Market Restaurant, N.C. Seafood Restaurant, Nahunta Pork Center, Super Sod lawn supply center and Market Imports building. |
