| WHY: | The troubled economy has increased demand for assistance from food banks. The federal stimulus bill includes additional funding for programs that make food available to hunger-relief agencies. The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services distributes food supplied by the federal government to hunger-relief agencies across the state. |
| OTHER INFO: | The press conference will take place on the warehouse loading dock. A department tractor-trailer containing food will be unloaded following the press conference. |
