Raleigh Flea Market at N.C. State Fairgrounds re-opens Saturday, Nov. 7
RALEIGH — Throughout the year, the State Fairgrounds hosts many events and activities, including one weekend staple, the Raleigh Flea Market, which will re-open Saturday, Nov. 7.
The Raleigh Flea Market operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays except during the month of October, when the annual State Fair is held. The market features hundreds of dealers and crafters and is one of the largest in the Southeast.
“We had a great State Fair this year, but the fairgrounds doesn’t shut down when the festivities end,” said State Fair Manager Wesley Wyatt. “The State Fairgrounds is a year-round meeting and market place, and the Raleigh Flea Market is one of the more popular attractions we have.”
Flea market vendors sell everything from antiques to video games, earning the flea market coverage in national magazines for its eclectic range of offerings.
In addition to the weekly Flea Market, several other events are scheduled for this weekend: the Capital Area Handbell Festival Nov. 6 and 7 in the Kerr Scott Building; the Junior Woman’s Club Fall Furniture Consignment Sale Nov. 6-8 in the Holshouser Building; the 25th Annual Neuse River Train and Railroadiana Show and Sale Nov. 7 and 8 in the Expo Building; and the Duke Children’s Hospital Benefit Hunter Horse Show now through Nov. 8 at the Hunt Horse Complex.
