Commissioner’s Circle to meet April 25 in Carteret County
RALEIGH – The Commissioner’s Circle, a group that advises Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler on agribusiness matters, will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, at Open Grounds Farm in Carteret County.
Covering more than 50,000 acres, Open Grounds Farm is the largest farm east of the Mississippi River. Crops produced there have included corn, wheat and soybeans. The farm is also a popular location for ecological and agricultural research projects.
The Commissioner’s Circle is composed of 35 citizens from across North Carolina representing farming, processing, the retail grocery business and other aspects of agribusiness. The group meets quarterly.
