Advisory Committee for Agricultural Development
and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund to meet Dec. 9
RALEIGH – The Advisory Committee for the Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund will conduct a business meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Eaddy Agronomic Building, 4300 Reedy Creek Road. The meeting is open to the public.
The committee will receive a status report on grants awarded by the trust fund this year and learn about the number of applications received for the 2009 grant cycle.
The ADFP Trust Fund Advisory Committee advises Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler on the prioritization and allocation of money from the trust fund, program planning, and ways to promote the growth and development of family farms in North Carolina. The trust fund received an appropriation of $4 million from the General Assembly for the 2008-09 fiscal year.
Committee members include farmers and representatives of agricultural organizations, state agencies and universities. More information is available at www.ncadfp.org.
