NCDA&CS looking for help to fill ‘The Big Cart’
Canned food drive to help the Food Bank of Central and Eastern N.C.
| WHO/WHAT: |
The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is teaming up with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina to fill The Big Cart with canned and other non-perishable food items to help the needy this holiday season. State government employees and other downtown workers are asked to donate canned goods, peanut butter, cereal, rice, pasta and dried beans. The Got to Be NC Big Cart, a giant motorized shopping cart, will be on display on the Bicentennial Plaza. |

The NCDA&CS is also teaming up with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle for the annual “Week of Giving” at the State Farmers Market. Shoppers at the market can place non-perishable food items under the Giving Tree in the Market Shoppes building from Dec. 7-13 to help the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. |
