Celebrate Apple Day on Sept. 27

| WHO/WHAT: | Sweeten your fall dishes with North Carolina apples. Local apple growers will offer their produce at the annual Apple Day festivities at the State Farmers Market on Sept. 27. Apple Day will feature free apple dessert samples, recipes and educational information. |

| WHERE: | State Farmers Market 1201 Agriculture St., Raleigh |
| WHY: | The event is being held to celebrate this classic fall fruit. |
| OTHER INFO: | Although North Carolina’s apple crop was damaged by the Easter weekend freeze, some growers were able to save some of their crop. Apple Day is sponsored by the N.C. Apple Growers Association, the State Farmers Market Restaurant, the State Farmers Market and the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. |
