This is the fourth year in a row that NCDA&CS employees and friends will tackle two large dump truck loads of sweet potatoes for National Hunger Awareness Day. The sweet potatoes are being donated by Nash Produce of Nashville.
A short program will kick off the event at 9 a.m. Volunteers are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring a pair of garden gloves.
The event offers excellent visuals for television with the large amount of potatoes and the volunteers of all ages who participate in bagging and moving the produce into bins. The trucks will dump the potatoes around 7:30 a.m.
