Get a spring on shopping at the annual Spring Craft Fair March 16-18
RALEIGH - Shoppers can find plenty of handmade crafts to accentuate their homes and gardens at the annual Spring Craft Fair at the State Farmers Market.
The craft fair runs March 16-18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
"North Carolina is not only home to the finest fresh produce in the country, but some of the finest hand craftsmanship as well," said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. "We expect about 60 vendors to participate in the craft fair so shoppers will have plenty of selection."
The Spring Craft Fair showcases local handmade items such as spring floral arrangements, pottery, stained glass, handpainted items, candles, jewelry and hand-woven baskets. Everyday items such as soap, handbags, quilts, crocheted baby blankets, furniture and woodworking will also be available. Visitors can also enjoy demonstrations by craftsmen and pick up gift ideas and decorating tips.
The State Farmers Market and the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services sponsor the event. The State Farmers Market is located at 1201 Agriculture St., off Exit 297 (Lake Wheeler Road) of Interstate 40.
In addition to the craft fair events, shoppers can enjoy the vast array of locally grown fresh produce, plants, cheeses, meats and wine. Two restaurants are also located at the State Farmers Market.
