Henderson resident receives Employee of the Month

RALEIGH – Debra Ferrell Ball of Henderson was recently named Employee of the Month for the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler made the presentation at a staff meeting and presented Ball with a plaque.
Ball, a 22-year employee for the Food Distribution Division located in Oxford, was nominated for her professionalism and dedication to her job as an information processing assistant. Ball has worked for the Food Distribution Division for almost 22 years
Ball is a native of Durham, where she graduated from Southern High School. She works to procure, allocate and distribute USDA food commodities to recipient agencies such as school systems and soup kitchens.
Ball enjoys gardening, reading and vacationing at the beach, as well as spending time with grandchildren, nieces and nephews and caring for animials. She is a member of Central Baptist Church. She is married to Thomas Ball and has two stepchildren, Thomas Ball, Jr. and Tonya Moore.
