Boss Hog's Backyard BBQ

It's the smell that brings you in, and the taste that brings you back!

About Us
Charles Baker, Mr. Boss Hog himself, has chased golf balls throughout his career as a golf pro before becoming a restaurantuer in 1999. His love of cooking for others and cooking for many golf "greats" and big events led him from the shimmering of the emerald greens after retirement into a new concept of cooking barbeque, ribs and chicken he called "Boss Hog's Backyard BBQ". From his start in 1999, this barbeque iron chef is now on his third Boss Hog's Restaurant and continuing to open new doors with his products while business grows at an extremely fast pace. Retirement looked favorably on the boss as his decision to open his own restaurant took him straight from retirement into an instant successful business that involves family members to maintain and control growth. His daughter Kim, helps with all three restaurants as does his son, Bobby, who manages the 14th street location. The birth of his sauces came about by working with many different ingredients throughout his years of cooking and experimenting only to end up with the best. Billy Tripp, the pitt master at Boss Hog's ensures every rib, chiken and chopped barbeque is so fittin' it'll make your tongue jump out and slap at ya for more! We do have plenty of napkins inside, cuz your gonna need it after gettin' hold of his lip smacking ribs, lusciously covered in the boss's Sweet Southern BBQ Sauce. As of today and no sooner than I just left the restaurant, customers gobble the stuff up faster than we can fix it, so we knew there had to be a bigger trail out the door of people who would like the taste of Boss Hog's BBQ sauce and rubs straight from Greenville, North Carolina. The sauces and rubs will soon be on North Carolina shelves for folks to have a taste of as well as purchasing it at the restaurants. Just look for the grinn'n Hollywood pig on the orange label wearing the "Boss Hog" t-shirt and his enterage of back seat drivers! See ya there! Yours truly, Boss Hog (aka Mr. Charlie Baker).

Specials

All three restaurants offer daily specials in addition to a few favorites such as turkey and dressing on Sundays and chicken and pastry on Thursdays. Big sellers are our own finger-lickin', lip smacking baby back ribs, chopped barbeque, and charcoal grilled seasoned chicken, all done with our own spices and sauces. And if gravy is your likin', smother some over a heaping serving of hamburger steak over rice, or a couple of extra large pork chops that would make any bull dog sink his teeth into! Pound special deals include one pound of bbq, one pound of slaw or your favorite vegetable and a dozen of our sweet fried hushpuppies or lace cornbread, just like great grandma used to make. Some call it spatter bread or flat bread, but anyway you call it, it's good eatin'. All dinners come with two vegetables and bread, and to wash it all down is a sure southern staple, home brewed sweet tea. There is something for everybody at Boss Hog's, from the wee little bosses with kid plates to the big bosses with plenty of favorites. And after lunch or dinner delight in homemade desserts such as sweet potato pies, banana pudding, strawberry, carrot or double chocolate cake, all made from scratch.
