Avant-Garde Creations is a gallery and cafe located in historic downtown Wilmington featuring North Carolina artistry and products exclusively. The mission of our shop is to promote our state and its' products and to highlight and market our North Carolina artists
Our gallery features the creative works from N.C. painters, photographers, jewelers, potters, authors, musicians, basket weavers, stained glass artists, and sculptors. Meet the author or musician events take place several times per month, and numerous classes in jewelry making, basket weaving etc. are also offered on a regular basis.
Our product line includes gourmet coffees roasted in Wilmington, NC spring water, Moravian cookies, salt water taffy, cheese straws, sauces, tar heel & light house chocolates, tar heel lollipops, grits, and hush puppy mixes. We also carry NC tea towels, tar heel bookmarks, and NC tote bags. Additionally, a line of pottery - made by our shop - featuring scenes from various NC areas on coffee mugs, plates, vases, and trivets is available. T-shirts with these scenes can also be ordered.

take I-40 to historic downtown Wilmington. Take Market St. to Water St. Turn left onto Water Street, go down approximately 1/2 mile. Avant-Garde Creations is located on your left inside the Chandler's Wharf building. Free parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to our building.
