Our farm is branching out to include fall presentations in addition to our "you-pick" pumpkin patch, check our website for more details
Our beautiful family farm is the perfect place to visit with your family or large group. Our group tours last 1-1 1/2 hours, and include an educational, interactive 20 minute presentation plus question and answer session covering the Monarch, its lifecycle, nectar plants, etc. The children especially love this part, as volunteers from the audience are dressed up - laughter abounds during the presentation!
After the presentation the group
visits the "flighthouse" - filled with
lovely Monarchs that are busy
nectaring on plants and feeders, as
well as breeding and laying eggs on
host plants in the house. A beautiful
fountain offers a serene, relaxing
atmosphere. The children will be
directed to each stage of the
lifecycle, from egg to caterpillar,
and see real chrysalis'. Guests will
be able to observe butterflies up
close! Each visitor is encouraged to
hand feed the butterflies with a sugar
pad; monarchs are very friendly -
don't be surprised if they land on
your shoulder, especially if you are
wearing bright clothing.
A fun-filled day for all! We have
several umbrella covered picnic tables
available on the grounds if your group
wants to enjoy a picnic lunch in the
Butterflies for release, monarch lifecycle kits, all the plants you could need for a butterfly garden at your home, and a full gift shop of butterfly must haves!
