SMNPA is a multi county association dedicated to: helping people earn extra income through growing, collecting, processing, and marketing of Appalachian native plants; preserving Appalachian native plants for future generations; providing education about Appalachian native plant species.
We are producing products using locally grown, substainably harvested native plants. To insure an ongoing supply of our specialty crops we are involved in research to determine best propogation, cultivation, and harvest practices for these plants. Our value-added products are based on locally stone-ground USDA certified cornmeal. We grow, collect, dry, label and package our products in our local USDA certified kitchen.
Supplies of the corn meal with ramps are limited due to the growing season of ramps.
