Yellow Branch Farm is a family owned
dairy farm with a small herd of jersey
cows, located near Fontana Lake in
Graham County. We moved here in 1980
to live from the land and to be as self sufficient as possible. The dairy is pasture-based, and the pastures and hay fields are managed using sustainable organic practices. No herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers are used. Growth hormones are not given to the cows, and antibiotics are only used therapeutically and as a last option.
Yellow Branch Cheeses are made by Bruce
in small batches following an
original recipe that we developed. The
distinctive flavor of the handcrafted
cheese results from the high-quality
fresh milk, flavored by the nutritious
pasture grasses and hand-cut, fresh
greens consumed by the cows.
Yellow Branch Pottery is a working
studio with a retail gallery and was
established in 1986. Karen has been
making pottery since 1975. Visitors are
welcome to watch the potters at work.
Cheese is available to taste and to
purchase at the pottery and at the farm
when the pottery is closed.
