About Us:
Three generations of the Blackwell family own a farm in Granville County about 3 miles south of downtown Oxford. The farm consists of about 140 acres that are used for a variety of agricultural purposes. Several pastures are used for horse boarding, other fields are leased for the production of tobacco, sweet potatoes and soybeans. Hay is also produced. The Blackwell family has owned and lived on this property for nearly 75 years.

In the fall of 2015, the Blackwell family opened Granville Haunt Farm / Corn Maze. Granville Haunt Farm is open on Friday and Saturday evenings in October, offering families a fun and safe afternoon/evening with 3 activities: 1. Corn Maze: A 7-acre corn maze is on-site with six checkpoints throughout. Guests are given a map and challenged to find all the checkpoints for a small prize. 2. Haunted Trail: A self-guided trail is set up in a separate corn field with scares along with way. Costumed actors interact with guests. 3. Zombie Paintball Hayride: Guests enter a field and board a 20-ft trailer that is outfitted with mounted paintball guns. Guests are given instructions and 150 paintballs, with an option to purchase more as needed. As they circle the pasture, actors dressed as zombies can be seen. Guests shoot the zombies with paintballs. Several targets are also visible for shooting along the route. Granville Corn Maze is our daytime corn maze operation, providing families a fun activity available on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in October.

During the opening year (2015), the business hosted approximately 4,000 guests, many from outside of Granville County. Approximately 30 seasonal jobs were created with the majority of those being local students. Concessions were provided by a local concessions vendor. Both Corinth Volunteer Fire Department and Providence Volunteer Fire Department assisted with volunteers and a donation was made at the end of the season. Granville Health System EMS was on-site in the event of medical emergencies and the Granville County Sheriff’s Department provided off-duty deputies for security management.
